Hello, wonderful people! Welcome to Aimee, Always.
I’m finally back, and back with a vengeance, might I say–I think I’ll stay for longer than a post or two this time. *fingers crossed* The shiny, new self-hosted blog and domain name are a good sign, yeah? Tell me what you think in the comments. *wink*
Anyway! Since it’s the new year, I wanted to start the blog off with some reading goals for January, plus a quick rundown of my new blogging strategy for the month. Any suggestions and recommendations would be fabulous, both for reading and for blogging. I’ve been so out of the bookish community the past year and have almost zero idea of what I’m getting myself into this time around!
So, how many books do I want to read in January?
“Want” is such a tough word. I want to read 10 books in January (since I averaged around that number per month before), but that’s highly improbable. *cries* In 2017, I read a total of 10 books for the whole year. THE WHOLE YEAR! I went through a year-long reading slump that I hope never to get into ever again. So I don’t want to pressure myself. I’m going to set my goal for the month to a very generous 3 books. I can do that, right? I’m already in the middle of my first book of the year, Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira. (You should definitely follow me on Goodreads for updates. Heh.)
Are there any books in particular that I want to read?
Well, yes, actually, thanks for asking. I purchased a GORGEOUS hardcover of Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust and would definitely love to read it ASAP. I’ve heard a few really good things about it, plus the synopsis is super haunting. Have any of you read this one? I LOVE the cover as well.
Please feel free to recommend more books I should read! YA preferred, of course.
So the blog is CLEARLY new and I’m still in the process of fixing everything (moving followers, fixing up social media sites and links) so that’s the first thing I want to have done by the end of the month! As for my blogging “strategy”, there will definitely be some changes from how I previously blogged:
- Quality over quantity: I used to churn out around 2-3 posts a week, but maybe that’s too much for me for now. This time around, I might stick with 1-2 posts a week. This is also to avoid blogging burnouts. *shudders*
- Mailing list: I’m using MailChimp now to host a mailing list, to make updates more personal and pleasing to the eye, so don’t forget to subscribe!
- Pinterest: I’m on Pinterest! And I’ll be pinning more about books and blogging. Leave your Pinterest usernames below so I can follow you!
Leave a link to your blog below–I need to get back in the blogging world ASAP. I’ve missed you guys!
